Don't worry, not all the choices are PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte for those of you who aren't fluent in "basic white girl").
If You LOVE Pumpkin
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Everybody knows about the obsession all the girls have over this drink, and to be honest with you, you should be obsessed (in fact, I'm drinking it right now)! This drink has the right amount of spice so it's not to sweet, and the right amount of flavor so you can't taste the bitterness of the caffeine. With the PSL comes the optimum posting opportunity as well, Starbucks even made the drink it's own Twitter (which yes, does follow me). You can tweet the account pictures of you and your friends drinking the latte and maybe even get featured (just make sure you use the hashtag #PSLisBack)!
I think this is something I'm way too proud of...
If You're Into Chai
Oprah's Teavana Cinnamon Chai Tea Latte
Oprah does this thing where she designs drinks for Starbucks, and I think it's pretty awesome! The drinks she has created in the past have been stellar, and I drank them often. This drink though has got to be my favorite. It doesn't contain too much cinnamon so you're not overwhelmed by the flavor. I definitely prefer this drink hot, especially due to the weather. Props to Oprah for being a Starbucks master!
You get a latte, and you get a latte, everybody gets a latte!!
If You Want to Try Something New
Toasted Graham Latte
Starbucks just came out with a new drink this fall, and I think this is another great seasonal latte (along with the PSL). I have only had this drink once, but based off of that one time I think I can formulate a somewhat accurate opinion (let's be real, this is the internet... nothing is usually accurate). The flavor is very consistent with a graham cracker BUT it does not taste like a s'more (it does not have a marshmallowy or chocolatey taste)! This is a good drink if you're looking to try new flavors.
If It's Christmas Time All Year Long for You
Hot Chocolate
I don't know about you, but normally I only have hot chocolate during the winter time (specifically during the holidays). Hot Chocolate seems like something most people indulge in when Christmas is approaching. There's something about hot chocolate that makes it so special, that makes you feel like you're drinking a warm cup of cheer. Sometimes the right cup of hot coco is good for the soul, no matter what time of year.
If You're Holding onto the Last Shred of Summer
Shaken Sweet Tea Lemonade
Summer has been officially over for a week now, but I understand if you're still wishing for the warmer weather back. Fall is a hard season to commit to (believe me, I know). Although the clothes are really cute, autumn also brings school and all the stress that comes with it. I could see where you could find sanity in believing summer never ended. This drink is AMAZING (it's like an Arnold Palmer, but even better)! I would order this drink all the time over the summer. It was my go-to Starbucks pick-me-up (yes, it was THAT important). If you want a little summer in a glass, you came to the right place.
Thank you for taking the time to read my latest blog post! I know this one isn't really college student specific, but I was hoping you would enjoy it anyways. Let me know what you thought and if I should just stick to topics for college life. I know this post is directed towards Starbucks drinkers, but with my obsession with their menu, I really couldn't help it (sorry not sorry)! If you haven't tried Starbucks before, I think you should definitely go at least once (but don't blame me if you become as obsessed as I am- I'm warning you).
Happy coffee running! Stay preppin', stay smilin', and most importantly, stay dreamin' With Love, Maria

The perfect Instagram season is finally here! Autumn always gets me excited, the foliage is beautiful and there are many things that only occur during this time of year. Since today is the first day of Fall, I thought I should share my list of must-haves this season. Without further ado, here are my "fall essentials".
1. Go-To Travel Mug
I don't know about you, but coffee is one of my favorite beverages and it's a great way to keep you warm during this colder weather. Having a travel mug is important so you can keep your drink and even your hands warm on your way to class. Even though coffee mugs aren't considered accessories, it really can make a personal statement. There are multiple types of mugs to choose from, and it can say a lot about you. I have also seen a lot of people on campus decorating their travel mugs with stickers, which is a great way to show your personality! My personal favorite has got to be the Lilly Pulitzer travel mugs. The patterns are all so cute, and really keep your beverage warm! (P.S. Yes! The header of my blog is a Lilly Pulitzer pattern.)
2. A Cute Scarf
Scarves are the number one accessory during this season. You can wear them so many ways, and sometimes they just "tie" the whole outfit together (see what I did there). You can use them as a statement piece and stay warm! There are a few kinds of scarves that I personally love:
3. Durable and Stylish Pair of Boots
Everybody has a pair of shoes that they wear all the time. This fall, make sure you have a pair of high quality boots because it does get cold fast (at least here at State College). Boots keep your feet warm and are very comfortable to walk in. Your boots should be well insulated and versatile for everyday use. My favorite pair of boots are from LL Bean, which is great because they have a life-time guarantee. They are made with "thinsulate" so it is perfect for the fall season. I think they are absolutely adorable and easy to match with every outfit.
You can buy me here:

4. Very Warm Pair of Socks
To go with your really cute boots, you of course have to have socks that go with it! Lately, a lot of girls have been wearing socks that come up to mid-calf with their Bean Boots and I think it looks absolutely adorable! They keep your feet extra warm, and they add an extra touch of color to your outfit. If you're wearing boots that come up higher than that, like riding boots you can always wear leg warmers to stay extra toasty.
5. Fall-Scented Hand Sanitizer
During any change of season people tend to get sick, especially if the temperature is getting cooler. Having hand sanitizer "handy" at all times is a great way to stay healthy. It kills two birds with one stone, you can stay away from germs and smell like fall! Some of my favorite scents include sweet cinnamon pumpkin, vanilla cream, and suncrisp apple.
6. A Sturdy Umbrella
Here at State College it rains A LOT, especially during the fall season. Having a durable umbrella is very important. You don't want to be that one kid completely drenched coming to class because you just walked in the pouring rain. Plus, getting stuck in the rain is an easy way to get sick. Believe it or not, an umbrella can say a lot about you. The pattern or colors you choose can reflect on your sense of style. Have fun with it and make sure you get an umbrella you really like, you'll be using it quite often! My favorite umbrella that I own is from Vineyard Vines, it is very sturdy and has the cutest patterns on it!
Thank you for reading my first "real" blog post! I hope you enjoyed it and found it helpful! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if there's something in particular you want me to post. Stay preppin', stay smilin', and most importantly, stay dreamin' With Love, Maria
Hey guys! My name is Maria and this is my first blog EVER (please go easy on me)! I am very excited to share my life with you guys, and hopefully you're excited too! Anyways, I thought no better way to introduce myself than with photos. Now not only can you can learn a little bit about my life, you can picture it too. I am a Freshman at Penn State, experiencing everything for the first time (definitely getting way too excited over little things). I am also an excessive Instagram freak, and take my "Instagame" very seriously. Instagram is where "Artsy Maria" comes out of her shell and tries her hand at being hipster (where my picture from orientation can be found). On Instagram, I love posting my "photography experiments". I will also try and keep up with my Gallery on my blog for more "professional" photos. Other than Instagram, I LOVE coffee!! I am pretty sure that caffeine runs through my veins. I love trying out new places to grab a good "cup of joe", but of course an occasional (maybe more than that) Starbucks run is good for the soul. I have many other social medias that I update as well, they can be found on the contact page. I hope you were able to get a glimpse of my life, but if you want to read a little bit more about me or why I chose Penn State to be my humble abode for the next 4 years, you can check out the "About" tab. I hope to post about anything and everything that interests me and hopefully you too. If you have any suggestions on what kind of content you would like to see, please leave comments in the "Contact" tab.
Thanks guys! Stay preppin', stay smilin', and most importantly, stay dreamin' With Love, Maria |
